Commissioned in the fifteenth century, Villa Taverna in Rome, Italy was first rented by the U.S. Embassy in 1933 and has since served as the residence for 18 American ambassadors. Villa Taverna is positioned on 7 acres in one of Rome’s most exclusive neighborhoods and features a Roman sarcophagus, ancient Egyptian granite columns, a swimming pool, and a tennis court.
Working with window systems that were hundreds of years old proved to be delicate work as new security film was installed to help mitigate against damage from potential bomb blasts and other high impact events.
Villa Taverna is located at Viale Gioacchino Rossini, 5, 00198 Roma RM, Italy
