The Amerika Haus is an institution of small American libraries, some of them assembled with books donated by departing troops, that emerged in cities across Germany’s American sector in the months after the end of World War II. In May 1957, the institute was moved to a building in the Staufenstraße, designed by the well-known American architectural firm, Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, in cooperation with German architect Otto Appel.
To mitigate against the damages of bomb blasts and other high-impacts, Commercial Security Window Film and Impact Protection Attachment Systems were installed on The Amerika Haus building in Germany.
The Amerika Haus is located at Gießener Str. 30, 60435 Frankfurt am Main, Federal Republic of Germany
