The United States Department of the Interior (DOI) is a federal executive department of the US government. Its mission is to conserve and manage the Nation’s natural resources and cultural heritage, provide scientific and other information about natural resources and natural hazards, and honor the Nation’s trust responsibilities to American Indians, Alaska Natives, and affiliated island communities to help them prosper.
The headquarters of the Department of the Interior is officially known as the Stewart Lee Udall Department of the Interior Building and is positioned in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of Washington DC. To help protect the building and occupants from damaging bomb blasts and other high-impact events, Commercial Security Window Film and Impact Protection Attachment Systems were installed.
