The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is a U.S. government agency created to support the housing market and create opportunities for homeownership. HUD’s mandate is to improve opportunities for affordable housing, increase safe and affordable rent options, reduce chronic homelessness, and provide advocacy to fight housing discrimination.
The Robert C. Weaver Federal Building serves as the HUD headquarters and is a ten-story building dedicated on September 9, 1968, and renamed in the honor of Secretary Robert C. Weaver on July 11, 2000. To help mitigate against potential bomb blast, commercial safety and security film was installed, along with impact protection attachment systems.
The HUD building is located at 451 Seventh Street, SW, Washington, DC, 20410
